I'd read an article about the Facebook in the school's alumni website (exsemekasri.asia).
There is an article that really caught my eye- hope you excuse me for the terrible English. I'm doing my best to translate it into English; so the message can be read by all - not only Malaysians, (hopefully) to Muslims around the world as well.
FACEBOOK AND ISRAEL
Facebook is created by Mark Zuckerberg, an ex-student of the University of Harvard. What makes this programme is said to have some connection with Israel - Mark is one of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity (AEPi) alumni. AEPi is joined by the North-American Jews. This community gives financial help to various communities related to Israel, including the AmericanIsrael Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
So, how the Facebook programme cotributed to these? Well, like other websites, Facebook offers its advertisements' site. One of the systems involved are the Pay per Click (PCP) and the Pay by Impression systems.
Nowadays, people around the world saying that Facebook does support the Zionis' economy. One of them said that due to Zuckerberg's visit to Israel's 60th celebration as one of the celebrity invited.
What can we, Muslims do?
If people said that logging into Facebook contibute to its economy, try our best to reduce the 'logging in'. Log in if only you have a very, VERY strong reason. If you think that does nothing on you, avoid logging in. There are many things you can do instead of logging into Facebook.
As the saying picked out from the internet goes, "Log out and get a life outside there....see the skies!"
